Predictions of the world religions

In all the world religions there are prophecies about the future – about a light of love which will appear in times of darkness when people are ready to receive the whole truth – to guide them all the way to a future paradise of real peace and harmony.

Christianity

"I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth.” (John 16:12-13)
Buddhism prophecies
Buddhism

Maitreya Buddha (the Buddha of the future) will come, which means a renewal of the teachings of the Dharma for those people, who can understand and receive.
Islam prophecies
Islam

The victory of Islam (peace and harmony) in connection with the coming of “the Spirit of the truth” (“Ahmed” or “Emeth”) – in the doomsday of latter days.
Hinduism prophecies
Hinduism

In our present time, Kali-yuga, injustice will culminate and will eventually overshadow the dharma totally. But just then the divine help comes forth, so that the human beings once again can come in harmony with life and become conscious in eternity, truth and love - “Satya-yuga”.

Christianity

According to Christ we should not expect a human being, (who wanders in the desert or is in the secret chambers), but a spiritual light, which like the sun would shine from the east to the west. He calls this light “the Comforter, the holy Spirit” (John 14:26). “Spirit” means consciousness or thoughts; “holy” thoughts are the highest thoughts about God and eternity in the form of a “Comforter” – a word the Jews use about the scrolls with their holy scriptures. In revelations chapter 20 is mentioned the opening of “The Book of Life”. Thereafter is described that “Death and Hades were thrown into the pool of fire” and in chapter 21 “a new heaven and a new earth”. What does all this mean? Could the words about “a new heaven” symbolise a new world picture, an eternal perspective of life, which reveals death as an illusion – i.e. obliterates death? With a new view of life the world will appear different – a “new earth”?

Buddhism

In Buddhism it is called a renewal of the teachings of the Dharma (the highest truth or teaching about life, the universe, of what is good and right action). Some prophecies refer this renewal to a time, when the Dharma is not taught like before. Does this refer to our times and the consequences of the occupation of Tibet? If the old prophecies of Maitreya – “the Buddha of the future” – refer to the present time it is consistent with the prophecies about the withering or rebirth of Buddhism after 2500 years.

Hinduism

Also in the Hinduism epic “Mahabharata”, Sanskrit:  महाभारत, it is said that God will reveal the wisdom when injustice rules the world (Bhagavad-Gita chapter 4:7). In our present time (Kali-yuga) injustice will culminate and will eventually overshadow the dharma totally. But just then the divine help comes forth (e.g. the name “Kalki” is mentioned), so that the human beings once again can come in harmony with life and become conscious in eternity, truth and love which is called “Satya-yuga” (the epoch of truth). (The Vishnu Purana 4th book, ch. 24 – The Agni Purana 16.10 – Srimad-Bhagavatam 12.2.37-38).

Islam

Islam, like the Bible, connects Jesus (Isâ) with the events of doomsday. In sura 61 v. 6 (or v. 7 depending on the edition of the Koran) the Messiah is called “Ahmad”. In the Koran one also finds words about holy books in connection with these events: “And We have made every man's actions to cling to his neck, and We will bring forth to him on the resurrection day a book which he will find wide open. Read your book; your own self is sufficient as a reckoner against you this day. (Sura 17 v. 13-14 or 14-15 depending on the edition) Also note Sura 69 v.18-25. And We will set up a just balance on the day of resurrection, so no soul shall be dealt with unjustly in the least; and though there be the weight of a grain of mustard seed, (yet) will We bring it, and sufficient are We to take account. (Sura 21.47 or 48)

When will this happen?

The fulfilment of the prophecies is obviously linked together with an extensive period of darkness on Earth – in the Bible and The Koran it is called “the period of Judgement Day”. The many signs of this period are “you will hear of wars and reports of wars”, “nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom” and there will be “famines and earthquakes from place to place.” “All these are the beginning of the labour pains.” (Matthew 24:6-9) “Brother will hand over brother to death, and the father his child; children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.” (Mark 13:12) “and because of the increase of evildoing, the love of many will grow cold” just as “false messiahs and false prophets will arise, and they will perform signs and wonders so great as to deceive, if that were possible, even the elect.” (Matthew 24: 12 and 24)

It is up to the reader himself or herself to evaluate if these prophecies correspond with the events of the last century and this century such as world wars, genocide, lawlessness, terrorism, fights about money, famine, natural catastrophes, armament, disease, suffering and spiritual darkness.

It is also prophesized that the coming light of love will come to people gradually as they become receptive to it – when they can “bear it”.

Is it the experience of suffering, egotism, and materialism that awakens people’s spiritual longing and receptiveness to love?

Martinus links the prophecies about the coming light of love together with the appearance of the spiritual science. In The Third Testament the concept “Judgement Day” is explained as the final showdown with selfishness – the animal tendencies of the unfinished human being.

These teachings of love are thus a helping hand on the last bit of way in the development from animal to man. “Judgement Day” takes place in the inner as well as in the outer events. Man brings to judgement his own unfinished sides, which eventually will lead to the victory of wisdom and the all-loving behaviour.

These dying twitches are thus the birth pains before the arrival of a real kingdom of peace – the fulfilment of the prophecies of the coming kingdom of God on Earth.
